Glucophone is a reed percussion gadget on which you can play with your hands and unique sticks. The uniqueness of this written agreement lies in the information that EVERY ONE MAY ENGAGE IN ON IT. Playing on it, you order participation sound vibrations that will enshroud you and everybody who is nearby, filling with congruity and joy. It is not without percipience that this mechanism is called Appropriate Drum (Drum of Elation) abroad. The limelight which has directed to the playing on the glucophone switches from the set internal dialogues, algorithms, and ratings to the deliberate weaving of the melodic pattern. The mind, at the unvaried chance, is filled with joy from original vocation and actively forms new neural connections, and the essence and consciousness are immersed in a state of impenetrable easing up under simpatico vibrations, almost identical in fullness and colour to a bell ringing. Hi Jon

I'm currently designing a set of postage stamps for New Zealand Post, featuring parakeets. We have images of the 5 main species, but it seems to me that Reischek's Parakeet is being overlooked – maybe because it's only recently been given full species status – not sure. I see you have a great photo of one. Do you sell / hire your images for use? It wouldn't be appearing on a stamp, but could make it into a presentstion pack.

Let me know, thanks. Also very envious of your birding trips.

Regards, Tim

Hello Bernd,

I am sorry to be so late in replying, I had forgotten about this facility so have only just read your message. It would be easier to send you information by email, please send your address to me at jonhornbuckle at yahoo.com. All the best,

Jon

Hello Jon,

I recently found a picture i think you took of the Heinrich nightjar in Sulawesi. It showed a pair together, and the site said you had seen three more (pairs?). My father discovered this nightjar in 1930 i belive, (and I wrote about it in The Snoring Bird). But the reason i am writing you here is because I am an ornithologist and wanted to know if you might share information about anything you knew of this bird- i am particularly interested in dates and locations of the three two-somes together. You might like my book "Ravens in Winter."

With all best wishes,

Bernd Heinrich

Hi Jon, a practical question from a fellow globetrottiing birder from Finland, who is going to visit East New Britain solo.

- Would you know if there is any other place to stay in Kimbe, other than the very expensive Walindi Resort (USD 200+/night)? Queen's Head has been closed and I have not been able to find any information on Hoskins Hotel anywhere (net, LP).

with regards,

Petri Hottola

Hello Jon,

I am a PhD student in the UK working on neotropical bird community assembly. I have a copy of your Cotinga 1999 publication titled 'The birds of Abra Patricia and the upper Rio Mayo, San Martin, north Peru'. I would really like to use the bird lists it contains in my analysis. But to be able to do this I need to know the area of each of the sites you surveyed; Aguas verdes, above afluente, on and near the Garcia ridge, and on the trail at 1900-2300m elevation.

If you do know the size of the area you surveyed, please could you email me this information. If you do not know, but can estimate it to within about 100 hectares that is also very helpful.

Thank you,

Chris Trisos

Hi Steve

I'm not aware of posting one on this site, is it on OBpix? All my photos of it will be slides of birds in the hand on Panay, I can check them. I dont remember any females but there were 2 plumages for sure. Who's the main decision-maker on the latest Phil splits? Good for my list but why no Palawan Frogmouth or Camiguin Bulbul?

Cheers, Jon

Hi Jon,

In view of the recent split of Copsychus superciliaris, and considering that morphological descriptions seem to be very scant, Des Allen and I recently considered this question, and one of your photos came up for discussion as to whether or not the sex of the bird is correct.

Cheers,

Steve

Hello Jon. I just wanted to say that you have a nice birding website. And I want to thank you for your reply my question. I was also wondering if you will be posting anymore trip reports for Philippines? I will visit there soon and I would like to do research first before going. Do you have a current email address where I can reach you at?

Troy
